| SEENET PROGRAM LAUNCHED IN SARAJEVO: SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE AND ITALY TO THE EU |

During the meeting in Sarajevo Governing Board has appointed an Executive Committee of the Programme, which will monitor the development phases and documentation related to the first year of activity is adopted. Region of Tuscany promotes and coordinates the program, and it is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy. The total value of a three-year program is 11 million, and in addition to the Region of Tuscany in its realization six Italian regions are involved (Emilia-Romagna, Piemonte, Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and the Autonomous Province of Trento) and 47 local communities from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina , Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. Flavia Donati, representative of the Department of International activities of the Region Tuscany pointed out that: "Network SEENET represents a challenge even for the Italian system of international cooperation because it networks for the first time seven Italian regions, that would be working together for next three years with the aim to strengthen partnerships with the countries of Southeastern Europe - a partnership that will be able to continue even after completion of the program SEENET. The main objectives of the Program SEENET is the support to the process of integration of the countries of Southeast Europe into the European Union, strengthening the leadership capacity and creating stable and enduring partnership network between local authorities and regions of Italy. |

The meeting was attended by over 100 eminent participants, among whom was the Ambassador of Italy in Bosnia and Herzegovina Raimondo de Cardona, representatives of the Italian development agency Cooperazione Italiana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Italy, representatives of Italian regions, as well as prime ministers, mayors and other political representatives of local communities in Southeastern Europe.
